I also hesitate to use vinegar for coffee makers that have mostly plastic and rubber internal parts. In my experience I’ve found it less efficient in removing coffee oils and in particular, almost useless for dissolving the dark, sticky residue that builds up along the brew path and to a somewhat lesser extent, around the internal heating elements.
